Cardiovascular exercise is kind of hard to talk about, from one hand too much of it will make it hard to build new muscle on your body and on the other hand you need it because it will help you get more oxygen into your muscles increasing your performance and burn flab off your body.

Whine about it if you want but unless you are on drugs you must do some running or cycling if you want to get into bodybuilding.

You also get the benefit of strengthening your heart.

Escalating Intensity Progression

What do the above words mean? its a type of cardio exercise that is short and effective.

So here is what you do: you should take 10 minutes before you start lifting, you should increase the intensity every minute, if you are on a treadmill you have to set the intensity to go higher on it every minute until you are running so hard that you can’t talk.

You can also do it by jogging but you must keep track of how much you are pushing yourself which is not recommended for beginners as they tend to go easy on themselves without realizing it.

After the 10 minutes are over you have gotten the oxygen circulating through your body and are ready to hit the weights.

Boxing And Bodybuilding

If you are wondering, “will boxing help me build muscle?”, the answer is no.

Why? Well boxing is a very aerobic sport, if you take a look at boxing legend Muhammad Ali you’ll notice he was not very big compared to say, Dexter “The Blade” Jackson.

Training for fights and training for bodybuilding are completely different ways of training, if you want to build more muscle you need to focus on weights more, if you want to focus on Boxing or MMA you will need to focus more on doing drills on the heavy bag and more importantly sparring with a partner.

Guys who are bigger generally make better wrestlers (no I’m not talking about that WWE stuff) but are not very good at cardio like runners.

So its up to you to choose what to focus on.

I personally think that there must be a balance between the two extremes.

When getting serious about your workout routine, there are a few things you’ll need to be as successful as possible. What I am going to cover in this article is one of your main assets as a bodybuilder. Which is bodybuilding supplements. There are thousands to choose from, but I am going to keep it very simple & save you time & money that I have spent trying all the crap out there.

First, if you want to build muscle mass you will need to feed them properly. What do they want to eat, Protein. I have tried over 20 different protein shakes & powders. Honestly, most of them tasted like water mixed with crap!! My #1 favorite Protein bodybuilding supplement drink is “Muscle Milk” made by Cyto Sport. It taste good, plus it has a synthetic form of the lipids found inside of breast milk. It taste great & comes in different flavors & has a nice low-calorie formula. This is great if you’re on a strict diet or trying to lose weight, especially stubborn belly fat. Protein is best taken about 30-45 minutes before your workout, as soon as your done with your workout, & right at bedtime.

Next you want to make sure your body is getting all the proper vitamins & nutrients. When you body build/weight lift, whether as a professional or just as a hobby, your body takes a pretty good beating. The best way to ensure your body gets the essentials is by taking a good multi-vitamin. I have taken a few & find that you get what you pay for. The cheap chain store brands multi-vitamins are usually inferior. I have used lots of them & prefer Animal Pak.

Last but not least, I always make sure to add fish oil into my regimen of bodybuilding supplements. Fish oil is essential at giving good heart health. The main thing I like is that it lubes your joints. Be careful when buying fish oils. I always make sure to get a Salmon based fish oil, because it is better quality. Plus, the cheap stuff makes you burp up a fishy taste in your mouth (Nasty stuff)!!

I am looking for a good bodybuilding supplement that will help you pack on alot of mass and muscle.
I want to get back in shape but I also want my muscles to build up and peak. any advice?

I would check into creatine. There are many, many different brands out there that make it and sell it. Creatine is produced in the body, sometimes a little more will boost muscle development. There hasn’t been any research showing negative side effects as well.

What is better to build muscle for bodybuilding, to start with the maximum weight that you can do and take off little by little? Or to start low and increase in weight? Also how many reps and sets should I do? Should I keep the reps and sets high or low?
